Division A: The Heavy Hitters

Rasoi (1) v Masala (8)
El Rancho Grande (2) v La Arepa (7)
Den Den (3) v Chilangos (6)
Pho Horns (4) v. Perro Salado (5)

Indian, Mexican, Korean, Vietnamese, and Venezuelan restaurants make up Division A, which is dominated by Providence and Pawtucket. Chilangos and El Rancho Grande are both Providence institutions at this point, while Den Den is a favorite with RISD students. Further afield, Masala livens up the Mineral Spring Avenue restaurant scene, but they’re up against stiff competition in an all-Indian match against Rasoi, one of three Pawtucket restaurants in this division. (Venezuelan stalwart La Arepa and Pho Horns are also represented.) Meanwhile, Newport’s only entry in this division is Perro Salado, Mexican food in an unlikely 18th century setting.
