The Wilbury Group is doing the world premiere of Erik Ehn’s 10,000 Things, a show which incorporates music, poetry, and shadow puppets into the story of two children who wander into the woods. Exact details are still somewhat mysterious, since the show’s only playing for two weekends, but the press release describes the show as “an exploration of the limits of mercy and extent of distraction in a busy age.” Ehn – co-founder of the Dorry-winning Tenderloin Opera Company – conceived the story as part of the Wilbury’s New Works series, and the show features shadow puppets by Erik Ruin and music by Maya Solovéy.
