You don’t often see entire concerts of flute and percussion around these parts, but that’s exactly what you’ll get with URI’s first University Artists Series concert of the season. They’ll perform pieces by Scottish composer Thea Musgrave as well as American composers John Luther Adams, Alice Gomez, and Lou Harrison, whose 1939 First Concerto for Flute and Percussion will be the earliest piece performed. The concert features senior lecturer Susan Thomas performing on flute, and artist/teacher Kyle Forsthoff on percussion, with a number of recent URI alumnae also participating.
