Alexandra Kleeman

There’s a glowing New York Times review of Intimations, the first story collection by New York writer Alexandra Kleeman. The review compares the author to “an alien intent on some meticulous anthropological mission on Earth,” with a series of stories that loosely follow the human life cycle. Last year I kept meaning to read Kleeman’s satiric debut novel, You Too Can Have A Body Like Mine, on the largely meaningless grounds that there was positive buzz about it and the chunky font on the cover was particularly eye-catching. Kleeman will be talking with fellow novelist Alex Gilvarry at the Malted Barley – the one in Westerly, which people tell me is much better than the Providence one.
