Danish artist Jakobine Schou met a merchant marine named Alfred Hobbs during the summer of 1954. The following year they were married and living in cosmopolitan Casablanca, where they bought a vintage London taxi and quickly set off to see more of the world. The trip lasted four years, but things went downhill once the pair settled down. Eventually a stir-crazy Alfred abruptly abandoned Jakobine to seek out more adventures. They met by chance one more time – a son was born of the reunion – but soon Alfred was gone again. This 2014 documentary focuses on Alfred, now in his eighties, as he plans to restore the ancient taxi and take Jakobine for one last ride.
