There’s some good work in Allison Paschke’s solo show at Candita Clayton Gallery, chief among them a series of minimal square works with inset boxes that aren’t quite rectangular but probably aren’t quite trapezoidal, either. (The proportions are vaguely reminiscent of a floppy disk.) There are paintings and pieces that include mirrors and resin, but my favorites were actually a trio of mounted prints that somehow manage to pull off a disorienting layered feel. Candita Clayton Gallery is conveniently located in Hope Artiste Village – its hours coincide with the Pawtucket Wintertime Farmers Market, which just started its tenth season last week.
