Local painter Anne Marie Rossi has a neat exhibit up right now in the front half of Warren’s IMAGO Foundation for the Arts Gallery. The lawyer turned holistic counselor turned painter uses a cold wax medium to create layered abstractions, mostly in earth tones and grayish pinks. Some lines are reminiscent of human or landscape forms, though just barely. Most of the pieces work, though I was most partial to the more intimate postcard-sized paintings. Further back in the room, the gallery is also spotlighting work by Crandon Whitsitt-Lynch.
