The bells at Winchester Cathedral form the basis of Jonathan Harvey’s 1980 8-track piece Mortuos Plango, Vivos Voco, a piece that weaves the sounds of the bells in with the voice of the composer’s son, at the time a chorister at the cathedral. Audiovision is an annual event at the Granoff Center, with experimental music played in eight-channel surround sound. In other words it’s like a concert except there’s no one actually on stage. Other works include compositions — the website doesn’t mention which ones — by John Cage, Christopher Hobbs, and Trevor Wishart.
