I’ve always been partial to A Child’s Christmas in Wales, the Dylan Thomas prose poem about growing up amid the daft and happy hills of his homeland. Aurea Ensemble’s annual retelling of the story incorporates the poetry of Katherine Mansfield and Mary Oliver as well as chamber music from Handel and Benjamin Britten. There are also harmonica improvisations and English carols. The event takes place in different locations throughout Rhode Island all weekend, wrapping up with Sunday’s performance at Slater Mill.
