I initially dismissed Puerto Rican trap artist Bad Bunny on the grounds that his name is Bad Bunny and his Future-ish flow is sleepy sleepy sleepy. Mister Bunny has had a big year, showing up on tracks by pretty much every artist in Latin America from reggaeton elder Daddy Yankee to pop starlet Becky G. He has a certain woozy charisma, though, his voice hitting lows that seem incompatible with his small frame and flowery wardrobe. But what do I know, I actually had to google the title of his hit “Tu No Metes Cabra” to be sure he wasn’t actually rapping about goats.
