I spent much of the late 1990s trading cassette mixtapes through the mail, so bands like Built To Spill felt pretty inescapable even though they weren’t actually on the radio much. The Idaho band has been plugging along for over twenty years now, and they’ve got eight albums behind them. Just a few years older, the Afghan Whigs also have eight albums, though they released them a lot more quickly and then broke up for a decade. Rituals of Mine opens.
