I’m not quite sure what’s going on with Emma Watson’s career, but Colonia is her second film since January to get buried with (probably) a single week of screenings at the $3 show. In this one she plays a flight attendant who lands in Chile immediately before the country’s 1973 military coup, the one that brought on the horrifying dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Desperate to save her German boyfriend, kidnapped and tortured by the regime, Watson’s plucky heroine joins a creepy death cult run by a fugitive Nazi pedophile. The insane part is that it’s based on a true story.
