PVDFest concludes with a day of activities at the Dexter Training Ground, the park behind the Cranston Street Armory. The RISD Museum’s got something planned that involves box trucks, but later in the afternoon there’s a concert in the park marking the 20th anniversary of Community MusicWorks. The organization’s music education program currently serves over 130 students, and was recognized by the White House a few years back as one of the best afterschool programs in the country. This concert features current students as well as alumni who went through the organization’s music program over the past twenty years. They’ll be joined by violinist Johnny Gandelsman and composer Gonzalo Grau’s nine-piece salsa band.
