Tonight you can see The Tempest in Roger Williams Park, Much Ado About Nothing at the Roger Williams National Memorial, or Hamlet in Fall River. In Pawtucket, though, Burbage Theatre Company is taking an alternate approach to Shakespeare, doing a free three-man rundown of his 37 plays in a little under two hours. It’s sort of like a live-action Animaniacs, combining slapstick, barf jokes, and terrible Scottish accents with that cartoon’s weird reliance on academic trivia. It’s very nerdy and silly, with some laugh out loud funny moments and the three actors (Jeff Church, James Lucey, and Andrew Iacovelli) running around until they seemed ready to faint. It’s so breathlessly staged that at one point an actor inadvertently threw an audience member’s beer at the lighting board.
