Every year I make it a point to visit the bazaar of indigenous art sponsored by Cultural Survival, the Massachusetts-based organization that advocates for the cultural and political rights of indigenous people around the world. The culinary highlight (for me, a vegetarian) are the Indian Tacos, which I’ve always described as basically a doughboy with a whole salad on top. Plus corn. They’re huge and delicious and kind of unwieldy when you’re trying to eat one off a paper plate while sitting on a stone wall. They also have an interesting and somewhat disputed history! The bazaar runs from 10am-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
