Cut & Paste: Collage Today is a large group show featuring work by 46 mostly local artists working in the frequently maligned medium. (The lofty exhibition description connects dots from Picasso to Joseph Cornell to Martha Rosler.) Running through April 20, the show includes traditional cut paper as well as works in medium including sound and VR, the subject matter ranging from very serious to very fluffy. I haven’t yet made it down in person, but I like that Alexander Castro’s Newport Daily News review frames the exhibition around something that happened once on Spongebob Squarepants.
