One of Providence’s many small drama companies, Counter-Productions Theatre Company usually stages interesting productions of well-selected shows. This time it’s a world premiere from Perishable Theatre co-founder David Eliet, though it’s only running for a single weekend. Le Dernier Repas: A Love Story is about a single dinner shared by two Frenchmen (Geoff Leatham and Ted Clement), both haunted by the Holocaust. According to Eliet, the play “was the result of ten years of writing about The Holocaust that started in 1994 when I met Magda Bednarova in Bratislava, Slovak Republic. She had saved the life of her then boyfriend, and her husband had saved two hundred Jewish lives.”
