Two winter shows just opened at Providence College—Galleries, and one of them is super cool. Graham McDougal takes text from vintage art and design journals, blowing them up and manipulating them until they’re unrecognizable, crazy eye-melting diamond patterns forming along the way. It’s really trippy. These are paired with the gonzo sculptural pieces of Providence artist Bayne Peterson, whose pretzel-like stone hearts and dyed plywood abstractions are a lot of fun. McDougal’s screenprints can’t really be appreciated as JPGs, so see this one in person.
