“When I die I may try to find you,” Diane Cluck says by way of introduction on her 2014 album Boneset. “Be forewarned.” The Virginia singer-songwriter doesn’t make the type of safe classical music you’d normally expect to hear at the Music Mansion, but that’s what makes the First Fridays series so interesting. Cluck describes her sound as “intuitive folk” and it’s an earthy sort of sound, musically spare but with a studied vocal technique. (The brief song “Not Afraid To Be Kind,” for instance, features the singer accompanied only by flugelhorn.)
