Expect a packed house for a Halloween metal show with Elder, Black Pyramid, and Dirt Devil (all from western Massachusetts) and Philadelphia outfit Rope Trick. Elder’s latest is Reflections of a Floating World, one of those albums where the shortest track is about nine minutes long and it usually takes half that time to build up to the loud parts. It’s good, though I’m most partial to “Sonntag,” which sounds more like a Yo La Tengo instrumental than anything approaching metal.
