Reading with Robin’s 11th annual Evening with Authors event brings a trio of writers to Askew for a casual conversation about their work and about writing in general. John Kenney (Love Poems for People with Children) is a humorist who writes for the New Yorker. Nana Kwame Adjei–Brenyah’s Friday Black is the dystopian horror collection for anyone who’s ever worked retail during the holidays. Most intriguing, though, is Perks of Being a Wallflower author Stephen Chbosky, who just released his first novel in nineteen years. He’s been in Hollywood, writing the screenplays for Rent and Beauty and the Beast; he’s also directing the upcoming adaptation of Broadway hit Dear Evan Hansen.
This event always sells out in advance, and there’s a discounted $10 ticket price for teachers.
