Frank Iero escaped mostly unscathed from the emo-pop revolution of the 2000s, spending more than a decade as guitarist and backup vocalist for My Chemical Romance. His third solo album is out later this week, and early reviews are great. First single “Young and Doomed” mines territory familiar to listeners of spastic depressive punk. (Sample lyric: “Most of the time / I’m convinced I survived / And that’s fine.”) Iero actually is a survivor, having made it through a near-fatal bus crash in Sydney a couple of years ago. That might explain why there’s a track on the new album called Six Feet Down Under. Reggie and the Full Effect opens the show.
