It’s already been six years since Brooklyn quintet Habibi released their self-titled debut album, a lo-fi garage pop nugget reminiscent of early aughts K Records groups like the All-Girl Summer Fun Band, or maybe like a more low-key Best Coast. Cute but not cutesy, with surf guitars and a lot of harmony. The band returned last year with a four-song, ten-minute EP called Cardamom Garden, which digs a little deeper into singer Rahill Jamalifard’s Iranian ancestry – two of the songs are sung in Farsi. Leggy (Cincinnati) and Cherry Pit (PVD) are also on the bill.
