Il Cinema Ritrovato is a movie nerd’s paradise, a week-long festival of lovingly restored film prints shows in various squares of Bologna. The (considerably smaller) Cinema Ritrovato at Brown series offers four days of free public screenings, ranging from the classics (Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in America) to rarities like the 1968 Cuban film Memorias del subdesarrollo. First up, and arguably most exciting, is Antonio Pietrangeli’s peculiar, pretty Io la conosceve bene. Nineteen-year old actress Stefania Sandrelli stars as Adriana, a Tuscan wig enthusiast on a quest to get discovered by Rome’s jetset. There’s gelato in the lobby!
