Credit where credit is due: Italian Saxophone Quartet really lives up to its name. Based in the small port town of Senigallia, the group perform to sell-out audiences around the world. This program, presented by Rhode Island Chamber Music Concerts, includes work from Jean Françaix, Pedro Iturralde, Astor Piazzolla, and Michael Nyman, as well as works by Bach, Vivaldi, Rossini, and Mozart. One reviewer from Monterey, California assuaged any fears one might have about this sort of event: “Think you don’t like saxophone quartets? Oh my, think again!” An on-stage reception follows the concert.
