It seems counterintuitive that residents of New England resort towns would love a horror movie about a New England resort town plagued by a revenue-killing shark. We’re a resilient people, though, and it’s not really summer in these parts until someone does an outdoor screening of Jaws. A know-it-all biologist, a money-hungry mayor, and a large fish with many sharp teeth are among several competing forces colliding on the Fourth of July in Steven Spielberg’s creepy classic. It’s the kickoff for the annual drive-in series at Misquamicut Beach (and with a forecast in the 80s it might be an actual beach day).
The movie starts at 9 but the drive-in opens at 6:30.
