It’s the final week to catch the ironically titled Work In Progress: A Memorial Exhibition honoring the late John de Melim (1924–2019). The prolific multimedia artist began teaching at Rhode Island College in 1960, at a time when the curriculum included a class Art in Society that was required for all students. Can you even imagine? The globe-trotting artist taught printmaking and later founded the school’s graphic design program.
