To be honest I’ve never been particularly wowed by Junior Boys, a veteran Canadian electro-pop duo whose songs are… nice, mostly, but not super remarkable one way or the other. I do like their recent singles, though. “Over It” is a buzzy little pop number, while the bloopy title track from their new Big Black Coat album is pleasantly paranoid. They’re touring with fellow Canadian Jessy Lanza, whose Grimes-like approach to squeaky dance tunes are co-written and co-produced by Junior Boy Jeremy Greenspan.
