Artist Kelsey Miller was raised on the Caribbean island of Antigua, which narrowly dodged the brunt of Hurricane Irma just over a week ago. With strong ties to the ocean – she spent several years sailing between the Caribbean and Europe – Miller’s work addresses the sea and the impact of warming oceans. Her new installation, Level, is a series of panels on display in the Hunter Gallery at St. George’s School. “I continually return to the sea, in both life and image,” she said recently in an Instagram post, “to reflect, to find solace in its familiarity, and for motivation to continue along the path of resistance.”
