The Kingston Chamber Music Festival continues with an all-American evening concert. The program kicks off with festival artistic director Natalie Zhu pairing up with violist Burchard Tang for Vincent Persichetti’s Infanta Marina. The piece was composed in 1960 and derives from an earlier vocal piece inspired by the poetry of Wallace Stevens. Other works include Jennifer Higdon’s Piano Trio (2003); Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, performed by saxophone quartet Project Fusion; and Dvořák’s String Quartet No. 12 in F Major, commonly known as the American quartet, which the Czech composed while living in a small village in 1890s Iowa.
