Czech composer Erwin Schulhoff isn’t especially well-known today, though he’s surely one of the more fascinating composers of the twentieth century, with works ranging from big band jazz to an erotic sonata of unaccompanied female moaning, not to mention a choral reworking of the Communist Manifesto. The Kingston Chamber Music Festival wraps up its summer program with a concert that includes Schulhoff’s Concertino for Flute, Viola, and Double Bass. Also on the bill: Saint-Saens’ Fantasie Op.124 for Harp and Violin, Zoltan Kodaly’s Intermezzo for String Trio, and Bartok’s Piano Quintet, BB33.
