Japanese artists Koeosaeme and CVN are two solo performers presenting two very different approaches to abstract electronics. The latter’s just released album i.c is more immediately engaging for a luddite like me, spare and ever so slightly pop-focused. (I could see Björk working with him, say.) Koeosaeme’s latest, Obanikeshi, is a strange and spooky thing that’s a little frantic for casual listening but cool if you’re writing a horror screenplay. Hollywaxing and Davey Harms open.
Japanese music events so rarely happen around here, so what are the odds two would happen on the same night? If this all sounds too heady, News Café in Pawtucket is hosting an all-vinyl Japanese disco night.
