A band of kooky Texan townspeople go undercover to steal back their land grant, which was stolen by the henchman of a nefarious businesswoman (who also happens to be a failed opera diva.) The Dominican-produced crime caper stars Fernando Colunga and Eduardo Yañez as the brains behind the operation. The movie opened quietly last month, mostly in heavily Spanish-speaking markets, although I don’t remember seeing it listed anywhere before it popped up at East Providence Cinemas (which I still mistakenly call the Patriot.) That happens sometimes. Last week, for instance, they had the Julianne Moore-Ellen Page lesbian cancer drama Freeheld.
