Another blink and you’ll miss it art exhibit, this time just over the state line in Stonington, Connecticut, where painter David Black has lived since 1983. Now in his late eighties, the former Broadway producer began painting after fleeing New York. He was the subject of a 1999 New York Times profile, and was prominently featured a second time when the La Grua Center opened in 2008. As for the paintings themselves, I’m not so sure; the show opened on Friday and I haven’t been down that way yet; also, Black’s website has been somehow compromised, so I only see dire warnings when I try to visit.
