Lily King’s Euphoria was my favorite book last year, a slim novel about a suicidal anthropologist and his relationship with a brittle Anglo-American couple in New Guinea. The ensuing bizarre love triangle is compelling, while the book’s handling of indigenous people is exceptionally nuanced for a book about white people in the tropics. King is speaking on a panel discussion about the novel that also features professors of anthropology, American politics and international affairs. A signing and reception will follow.
