It’s pretty exciting that all-male London company Balletboyz will pass through town for a one night only FirstWorks performance, their first in Rhode Island. Although their name drives me nuts, I’ve been intrigued by the award-winning concept for a few years now, and especially the performances that engage directly with concepts of masculinity, like their recent commissioned World War I centennial piece. (That’s not what they’re doing here in Providence.) Founded by two principals from London’s Royal Ballet, the ten-man company has garnered raves for their energetic modern performances.
