You have one final chance to see Lucky on the big screen, as John Carroll Lynch’s film leaves the old Patriot on Thanksgiving. I really thought the late Harry Dean Stanton might get an Oscar nomination for Lucky, a film about a 90-year old desert loner prepping for his own death. (Stanton passed away in September at the age of 91, shortly before the film was released.) The odds aren’t looking so good, though, with bookmaking site Gold Derby currently giving him a 100:1 shot at a nomination. He also wasn’t recognized by the Independent Spirit Awards, announced earlier this week.
