Sports journalist Mary Pilon (The Monopolists) just released The Kevin Show, a study of a man who’s either the luckiest or the unluckiest man alive. Kevin Hall is a Brown graduate, father of three, and competitive sailor who made it to the 2004 Olympics. He’s also a two-time testicular cancer survivor who suffers from a rare condition casually known as Truman Show disorder. Believing himself to be part of an ongoing reality show, Hall nearly drove his pregnant wife into Boston Harbor and almost threw himself off a tower because a sinister voice called The Director told him to. (Unusually but luckily, Hall’s wife, his parents, his two stepparents, and even his wife’s parents are all medical professionals.) Both Pilon and Hall will be at the reading.
