A number of Hollywood films have been made in Rhode Island in the past decade, but only Moonrise Kingdom warrants repeated viewings. (Sorry, 27 Dresses fans.) It’s a visually adorable, thematically honest film about a very specific age, that period around sixth or seventh grade when the girls are essentially teenagers and the boys are very much still children. It’s cute and sad and stagey and features both Bruce Willis and Tilda Swinton. It’s been five years since the film’s release, which seems both too long and too short, so the Jane Pickens and WhatsUpNewp are hosting a 5th anniversary screening. It’s up to you whether you want to crumple up your dollar bills to look like lettuce before buying a ticket.
