Once again the summer classical music season kicks off with Music On The Hill, a ten-day chamber music festival with a slightly misleading name. With concerts spanning five venues between Cranston and Westerly, there’s no actual hill. The most interesting of the seven concerts might be Ocean State Composers, featuring works by Thomas Bucci, who passed away last year at the age of 90, and four living composers, all of whom grew up in the area and none of whom live here anymore. Nico Muhly, Carl Schimmel, Sebastian Currier, and Daniel Carr are the other featured composers. Soprano Diana McVey (pictured) will tackle Carr’s three William Blake Songs. The festival runs through June 10.
