Nicole Aquillano likes bridges. Trained as a civil engineer, the Boston-based ceramicist etches detailed bridges into the clay before filling it it with a dark glaze. The finished products are intricate but slightly hazy blue renderings on plates, glasses and trays. Local bridges are represented, including the Mount Hope and Braga, while other pieces include houses, ships, and staircases. Aquillano’s solo show is up through the first week of August at Arch Contemporary, a small but well-curated ceramics gallery tucked in Tiverton Four Corners.
