Theresa Ganz and Millee Tibbs are two photo-based artists working in that very trendy genre of landscapes with stuff plopped on top. Which is not to say that trendy can’t be interesting; I actually like some of Tibbs’ pieces, snowy lakesides and a suite of mountains overlaid with some stitched geometric business. Ganz’s larger pieces are more theoretical, digitally altered in fairly subtle ways to reflect twenty-first century interactions with nature. The cut and collaged layers are aesthetically intriguing, but overall it’s not especially clear whether they’re meant to be read politically or not.
