I really enjoy Circles In The Desert, the two-track album from instrumental Providence trio Obaku. Despite the brief track list, the album’s about forty minutes long, with a pair of doomy, minimal metal songs that build and build and build. (Their previous release was a single 35-minute song.) You might want earplugs for this one, especially after hearing the dreamy, quiet sounds of Providence’s Interstellar Sarah Michelle Gellar* and two guys from Oakland, Andrew Weather and Seth Chrisman. The show will be over on the early side; this might be the first Facebook event invite I’ve seen that listed an end time on the quarter hour.
