Ten fourth and fifth graders will see their favorite books come to life in the latest from after school theater initiative Manton Avenue Project. The Favorite Book Play Festival sees each of these children’s books adapted for the stage by one of the Olneyville students and then performed by local theater professionals. MAP’s plays are always lively and surreal, fantastic examples of adults actually taking children’s imaginations seriously. (These plays were put together through a partnership with the Rhode Island Center for the Book and Providence Community Library.)
