Back in 1998, an Indian welder named Arunachalam Muruganantham embarked on a long quest to help rural women with no access to clean feminine hygiene products. Though his wife was horrified by the attention, his homemade pads really took off, and in 2014 Time Magazine named him of the year’s 100 Most Influential People. Now, of course, there’s a biopic, a light drama with a bunch of goofy songs. Akshay Kumar stars as Muruganantham, a cheerful nerd on a mission. Happy Valentine’s Day!
