Paul Myoda’s second solo show at Yellow Peril Gallery is named for the geographic coordinates of Chepachet, the artist’s home turf. According to the wall text – and contrary to that lying minx Wikipedia – Chepachet means “Devil’s Sack” in the Narragansett language spoken by the native Nipmuc who lived there. With that sort of preamble, it’s perhaps surprising that the show consists primarily of futuristic looking black sculptures, geological looking pieces made from 3-D printed acrylic, aluminum, and plastic. It’s an interesting approach, and one that works well.
