Stoughton-based author Paul Tremblay, recently dubbed “horror’s newest big thing” by GQ, has a new story collection out. Growing Things features nineteen stories of horror and suspense. In The Getaway, the gang behind a Worcester robbery begins vanishing one by one. In the title story, a family is ruined by invasive plants. There’s one longer story that’s a series of letters written to the author by a number of dog walkers. “The fact that it sounds so stupid is why it works,” says NPR. “It should be read in big frantic gulps.” Tremblay will be appearing with Christopher Golden, Bram Stoker Award-winning author of recently released psychological horror novel The Pandora Room.
