Do you guys know about Kanopy? It’s a movie streaming service that libraries pay for, and if you have a card from any public library in Rhode Island you can type in your number and watch eight free movies a month. The movie selections include some unexpected titles, including older obscurities and short films as well as recent documentaries. You can watch Precious Knowledge, a 2011 documentary about Arizona high schools’ Mexican American studies curriculum, which was hugely successful until it was dismantled by Republican politicians. Or you can go to the Rochambeau Library, watch the film there, stay for the post-film discussion with Brown professor Kevin Escudero, and save your eight titles for a different day.
