It’s Pride this weekend, and there’s a whole slew of official, semi-official, and unofficial events happening throughout Providence. I made a guide for the week, actually, which you can see here.
Some highlights, though:
Downtown Boys at PrideFest
The local punks are headlining this year’s edition of the free festival, a choice that’s either logical or politically risky for everyone involved.
Lisa Lisa at The Village
Lisa Velez hasn’t had a hit in a quarter century but she’s still a fantastic live performer, and she’s headlining the block party at The Village on Richmond Street. I can’t find the price listed anywhere but it’s part of a much bigger block party so definitely not free.
The Illustrious Blacks at AS220
AS220’s four-day Queer Arts Festival wraps up with a free dance party featuring DJ Wacklikethat and Afrofuturist performance duo The Illustrious Blacks
