It’s time for the 2nd annual Providence Y2K International Loop Festival, a three-day weekend of knobs and pedals in a genre-trampling flood of sounds, from hip-hop to free jazz to experimental ambient something or other. Though it’s unique on the east coast, over fifty cities worldwide host live looping festivals, and this year’s expands on last year’s with more events (including a Touch The Gear workshop on Saturday) and more acts from farther-flung regions. That said, Sunday’s lineup is packed with locals: Manami Braxton; Banter Solo Trio; Domestique [pictured]; Forte/Verney; Illuminate My Heart, My Darling; Ky Why; nitious; Christopher Sadlers, and Sinister Machine. Ten bucks for nine acts is a steal, too.
